CHRIS MARTIN has backtracked on his promise to "reinvent" rock music with his band COLDPLAY's third album.
The husband of Hollywood beauty GWYNETH PALTROW regrets his pledge to dramatically alter the YELLOW band's sound has not materialised in the studio, and he fears their piano-led tunes will start to bore fans.
He says, "I think people will be a bit sick of us by the time we come back.
"By the way, that whole 'wheel' thing I said, that was just post-gig excitement! We're just trying to redesign it, not reinvent it."
