COLDPLAY - MARTIN SOLD FOR GBP5,000

COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN has gone under the hammer for GBP5,000 ($9,000) at an auction to raise money for a local primary school in his adopted hometown of London. The bidder, a father who beat numerous rivals to the prize, will receive a special visit from Martin at his own home within six months of the Auction Of Promises, which was held at London's Canonbury Primary School yesterday (18MAY06). FIX YOU hitmaker Martin has also offered to perform one song at a private show after the gig, providing no more than 10 people attend.
