Rocker CHRIS MARTIN has praised Britain's generous response to charitable campaigns - insisting his countrymen are unfairly portrayed as miserly.
Brits responded overwhelmingly to the 26 December (04) tsunami, raising tens of millions of pounds for victims of the killer wave in Asia - but Martin insists this is typical behaviour.
Speaking after a charity trip to Africa to promote his MAKE TRADE FAIR campaign, the singer says, "Britain is often misrepresented as a nation of cynical b**tards but most people want people around the world to be happy."
