COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN has repaid an old favour to rock pals EMBRACE - by penning their comeback single.

The CLOCKS rocker - who is the proud father of GWYNETH PALTROW's daughter APPLE - used to play with the modestly-successful British band before his group took the world by storm.

And he was delighted at the prospect of helping them relaunch their flagging career.

Martin enthuses, "We've always loved Embrace and DANNY McNAMARA is one of my best friends.

"When we wrote GRAVITY we thought it sounded far too much like them for us, but not too much like them for them, so I asked Danny if he wanted the song and that was that."
