COLDPLAY - MARTIN CLIMBS AMPS TO JOIN GALLAGHER AT GIG

COLDPLAY frontman CHRIS MARTIN was so happy to spot NOEL GALLAGHER in the crowd at an exclusive London gig on Tuesday (19APR05) night, he climbed a stack of guitar amplifiers to hug the OASIS rocker before recklessly jumping down to the stage again.

The CLOCKS band was performing at the capital's Round Chapel venue, in a concert being recorded for MTV, when singer Martin noticed Gallagher watching from the balcony.

So the normally sensible Martin clambered over the expensive equipment to greet his pal, before telling the cheering crowd Gallagher is "a genius".

However, struggling to locate a suitable way back to the stage, Martin - married to actress GWYNETH PALTROW - decided to jump the 4.5 metre (15 foot) drop to rejoin his bandmates.

The gig was being recorded to promote Coldplay's upcoming third album, X+Y, due for release in June (05), and will be screened on MTV on 5 June.
