DIXIE CHICKS - MAINES STILL SMARTING FROM BUSH COMMENT FALL OUT

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

DIXIE CHICKS star NATALIE MAINES is still angry about the way her group was picked on for remarks she made about US president GEORGE W BUSH at a London concert in 2003.

The GOODBYE EARL singer feels she and her bandmates were unfairly pilloried by the US media after comments she made stating her embarrassment at being from the same state as Bush.

Dixie Chicks records were burned by arch-conservatives and the trio were vilified as traitors in some right-wing circles - something Maines will never forgive.

The singer says, "I don't really know what happened to other people, but I think we were made the examples.

"I mean, JENNIFER ANISTON called Bush a 'f**king idiot' and nothing happened to her. I think we probably got it more than anybody else."
