TOBEY MAGUIRE - MAGUIRE'S WEIGHT GIVEN AS CAUSE FOR GLOBES NO-SHOW

TOBEY MAGUIRE dropped out of his appearance at the GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS minutes before the show - after he was advised to keep his weight problems private.

The SPIDER-MAN star was scheduled to introduce a clip of MARTIN SCORSESE movie THE AVIATOR, which went on to scoop the Best Drama prize at Sunday's (16JAN05) ceremony.

But he pulled out at the last minute - reportedly at the insistence of close aides who want to keep him out of the spotlight until he loses the pounds he's recently piled on.

The Los Angeles awards' producers managed to recruit ORLANDO BLOOM to replace Maguire, reports PAGESIX.COM.
