Pop superstar MADONNA spent a day reading her new book to schoolchildren in London yesterday (11NOV04).

Two hundred and fifty people were lucky enough to get tickets to see the MATERIAL GIRL read from her fourth book THE ADVENTURE OF ABDI at London department store SELFRIDGES, before Madonna travelled to St Winifred's Catholic Junior School in Lee, south London - where she read a 10-minute extract.

The new book, inspired by the Kabbalah faith, tells the tale of a wealthy Italian greyhound called LOTSA DE CASHA who struggles to find happiness.

Millionairess Madonna wants the story - the fourth installment of a five-part series - to teach children that wealth is overrated.
