Pop superstar MADONNA enlisted a galaxy of stars, including GWYNETH PALTROW, CHRIS MARTIN and STELLA McCARTNEY to help her pay tribute to CECIL BEATON during a two-day party honouring the late photographer.

The MATERIAL GIRL hosted the "Cecil Beaton weekend of folly" at her home in Ashcombe, England - where Beaton once lived - and forced her celebrity guests to prepare a show in his memory.

But her favourite tribute was by the COLDPLAY singer, his wife Paltrow and designer McCartney, who performed a mock version of Madonna's hit AMERICAN LIFE.

She says, "I hosted a Cecil Beaton weekend of folly.

"I invited all my friends and we all had to put on a show. Gwyneth, Stella and Chris composed a song together, which was brilliant - a spoof on American Life, except they called it American Wife."
