WILLIAM H MACY - MACY SICK OF PLAYING THE 'LOSER'

WILLIAM H MACY initially rejected his role in new movie THE COOLER, because he's sick of playing "losers".

After playing victims in movies like FARGO and MAGNOLIA, the acclaimed character actor was concerned he was being typecast - but he relented and agreed to star in The Cooler because his character BERNIE LOOTZ is the ultimate loser.

Macy explains, "Just as The Cooler script came across my desk, I talked to my agent and said 'Look I've played that card for the last time, so no more of these loser types who are in over their head'.

"But there are losers and there is Bernie Lootz - it's almost biblical in proportion he's such a loser.

"I was so reluctant: it was very low budget, it was shooting out of town and I've got two small children and it was another loser role but I did it and I'm the luckiest Pallooka."
