Rap star LUDACRIS has found starring in CRASH and HUSTLE + FLOW prompted him to think more about political issues when writing his music.

The singer, real name CHRIS BRIDGES, has been criticised for glamourising the gangster life, but has had his mind opened since appearing in the films.

He says, "The movie roles have inspired my thought processes to get into new subject matter in music - politics, in general, and what's going on in the world today with other races and cultures."

The rapper says his new album, RELEASE THERAPY, will have a lot of versatility, reflecting his new outlook on life.

Bridges is also reading through a stack of scripts to select his next film role and wants to keep choosing roles "that start conversations about what's going on."
