British royal and famous photographer LORD LICHFIELD has died after suffering a stroke. He was 66.

The celebrated Earl - QUEEN ELIZABETH II's first cousin once removed - fell ill yesterday and passed away this morning (11NOV05) in hospital in Oxford, England.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman says, "It's a private matter. The Queen is deeply saddened and will be sending private condolences."
