DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star EVA LONGORIA intends to keep away from sexy film roles, because she doesn't want to be typecast.

The Latina actress, who plays the sultry and adulterous GABRIELLE SOLIS in the hit US show, doesn't want to end up like former FRIENDS star JENNIFER ANISTON, who Longoria claims will never shake off her best known role.

Longoria says, "I've done a couple of films and I'd love to do more.

"I want roles that are the opposite of Gabrielle - I don't want to be known as just a sexpot, it's so hard to break out of.

"Even though Jennifer Aniston's had huge success, she'll always be RACHEL GREEN."
