LIZ TAYLOR - LIZ TOO SAD FOR THE OSCARS

LIZ TAYLOR missed out on her "swansong" at the OSCARS on Sunday (23MAR03) because she was too sad to attend.

Taylor had planned on bowing out of Hollywood by appearing as part of the "class photo" at the ceremony, but was mysteriously absent from the line-up.

She has since sent the Academy a statement explaining she felt "saddened" by events in Iraq and thought it would be "tasteless and inappropriate" to show up.
