THE PRINCESS DIARIES - LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD MOVIE HOODWINKED TO GET SEQUEL

The latest Disney blockbuster HOODWINKED performed so well at the US box office over the weekend (13-16JAN06) that a sequel is already in the works.

The film is thought to have topped the US box office after the Martin Luther King Jr holiday weekend, but just missed out after basketball drama GLORY ROAD squeaked to the top of the chart with $48,000 (GBP27,500) more in returns.

The strong second-place finish was good enough for the studio to greenlight a Hoodwinked sequel, titled HOOD V EVIL.

The computer-generated animated release is an irreverent take on the classic tale of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD.

Hoodwinked features the voices of THE PRINCESS DIARIES star ANNE HATHAWAY, GLENN CLOSE, JIM BELUSHI and SEINFELD's PATRICK WARBURTON.
