Riot police were called in after British guitar band THE LIBERTINES tried to stage a gig - in their front room.
The group posted a message on their website inviting fans to their east London pad for a special performance, with a GBP10 ($15) door charge.
As the police stormed into the house frontman PETE DOHERTY sang the lines, "When they kick at your front door/How you gonna come? from THE CLASH's GUNS OF BRIXTON.
Bandmember CARL BARAT says, "It was stupid, they turned up in a riot van.
"I thought they were going to round us all up. We kept on playing for a bit. They were a bit distracting to be honest."
Singer Pete was cautioned but the rest of the band managed to escape the clutches of the police, who immediately asked around 30 fans of the band to leave.
Apart from being a little more intimate than the band's usual venues, it seems the house may have contravened health and safety rules. Carl was overheard telling one fan who used the house's toilet, "I can't believe you did that... I haven't used it for months."
