YOKO ONO and CYNTHIA LENNON are both working on projects to mark the 25th anniversary of their former husband JOHN LENNON's tragic murder.

Ono, who was married to the former BEATLE when he was assassinated in New York, is busy writing a musical celebrating Lennon's life, which will preview in San Francisco, America next month (APR05).

Meanwhile his first wife is penning a memoir about her ex-love, entitled JOHN, also scheduled for release to coincide with the anniversary of his death and just before what would have been his 65th birthday later this year.

Cynthia Lennon first met the icon when they were at art school together in Liverpool, England in 1958.

She says, "It will be straight from the heart and, I'm glad to say, has the blessing and support of my son JULIAN, who very much wanted me to write it."

The book is dedicated to the IMAGINE singer's sisters JACQUI and JULIE, and singer son Julian, 41.

She adds, "All three have had to cope with the pain of the Lennon legend, and the spotlight that goes with it."
