ANG LEE - LEE SLAMS DUSTY RUMOURS

LATEST: Director ANG LEE has rubbished reports he is set to do a movie based on the life of late British pop star and closet lesbian DUSTY SPRINGFIELD.

Media reports last week (begs20FEB06) speculated that the BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN director was preparing to make the film, supposedly starring CHARLIZE THERON and model KATE MOSS as her lesbian lover.

According to JAMES SCHAMUS, a longtime Lee collaborator and producer of Brokeback Mountain, the reports are false.

He explains, "It (the rumour) came from a couple of bites on the internet that collided.

"It showed up on one of these gossip sites, and Ang and I were like, 'Huh? What?'

"I'm a Dusty Springfield fan, but it's all completely fabricated."
