DAVID LEE ROTH - LEE ROTH GOES BLUEGRASS

Rocker DAVID LEE ROTH is hoping to bounce back from his failed DJing career by revamping his old VAN HALEN hits, bluegrass style. The JUMP singer has re-recorded his biggest hits for a quirky new album, entitled STRUMMIN' WITH THE DEVIL: THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF VAN HALEN. Roth only sings on three of the album's tracks - Jump and two versions of JAMIE'S CRYIN' - and leaves the rest to guests including bluegrass stalwarts LARRY CORDLE, JOHN COWAN and the NASHVILLE BLUEGRASS BAND. Lee Roth's career as a radio DJ was cut short last month (MAY06) when his five-month-old show was pulled by CBS network bosses after it failed to set the airwaves alight. Lee Roth was brought in to replace shock jock HOWARD STERN, who quit CBS and mainstream US radio to host a satellite radio show.
