DENIS LEARY - LEARY AMAZED BY GLOBES BOOZERS

Funnyman DENIS LEARY was astonished at his first GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS earlier this month (JAN05) - by the amount of drunken stars at the bar.

The actor, who was nominated as a Best Actor for his role in TV firefighter drama RESCUE ME, spent much of the evening at the bar after losing out on a Globe, and he couldn't believe how many big names were making the most of the free alcohol.

Leary recalls, "I ran into a couple of extremely famous people. I went out to have a cigarette, I went out to get some drinks for the table and there's people that are absolutely s**tfaced.

"My category's already done and I'd lost so, you know, by all rights, I'm not going to be on camera again but these guys are still coming up.

"I was kind of secretly hoping that one of these guys would win because I wanted to see what was going to happen."
