HUGH LAURIE - LAURIE'S 'BIN LADEN' AUDITION

HOUSE actor HUGH LAURIE was amazed to be cast as sexy medic DR GREGORY HOUSE in the TV series, because he resembled terrorist OSAMA BIN LADEN in his audition.

The English star had finished filming FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX in the desert, and insists the process was so strenuous it left him looking exactly like the fugitive when he first tried out for the TV role.

Laurie jokes, "My audition tape was probably the most bizarre thing any producer has ever seen; it was my Osama Bin Laden moment. I looked like I'd just crawled out of my cave."
