GLORIA ESTEFAN - LATIN STARS SIGN UP FOR SELENA TRIBUTE

GLORIA ESTEFAN and THALIA are among a host of Latin stars confirmed for a concert to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of beloved singer SELENA QUINTANILLA's murder.

Spanish-language broadcaster UNIVISION TELEVISION is planning a live broadcast of the three-hour SELENA... A 10TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE, to be held on 7 April (05) in Houston, Texas.

Other confirmed acts so far include PEPE AGUILAR, CARLOS VIVES, ALICIA VILLARREAL, ALEKS SYNTEK, LUCERO, ANA GABRIEL, BANDA EL RECODO, INTOCABLE and KUMBIA KINGS, the group co-founded by AB Quintanilla, Selena's brother and former bandleader.

Selena's label, EMI LATIN, will release an album of the concert later this year (05).

Her final concert took place in Houston, where she played for more than 69,000 fans.

Selena was shot to death by the president of her fan club in 1995. JENNIFER LOPEZ was subsequently catapulted into stardom when she portrayed the late singer in the 1997 film SELENA.
