SANAA LATHAN - LATHAN SHOCKED BY FRIENDS' NEGATIVITY

Black actress SANAA LATHAN is saddened by her friends' negative response to her new movie about interracial romance.

The 34-year-old New Yorker claims black male friends have attacked the plot-line, disapproving of her on-screen relationship in SOMETHING NEW with Australian actor SIMON BAKER.

She says, "I know that I'm going to get flack from the black community.

"It's very interesting, because people are like, 'What are you doing next?' A romantic comedy. 'Who's the guy?' His name is Simon Baker. 'Who's that?' He's white. And I've had literally black men be like, 'Uhhhh. I'll go see it because of you, but I don't like the story'."
