MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING - LAPAGLIA BUYS INTO SYDNEY SOCCER TEAM

Australian actor ANTHONY LaPAGLIA is taking his soccer obsession to the next level, by joining the board of directors of SYDNEY FOOTBALL CLUB.

The WITHOUT A TRACE star, married to MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING funnywoman GIA CARIDES, played semi-professional soccer during his youth in Adelaide, South Australia before launching his Hollywood career.

LaPaglia enthuses, "I am excited about being involved with Sydney FC at a time when football in Australia is embarking on a new journey.

"I have long had a passion for football and watching from afar I saw that the game was heading in the right direction and I wanted to be a part of it.

"I'm looking forward to coming home for a break and I will be devoting a lot of attention to Sydney FC while I'm back in Australia."
