JACK NICHOLSON and AUDREY HEPBURN almost teamed up on the big screen as historical lovers NAPOLEON and JOSEPHINE.
Late movie legend STANLEY KUBRICK was in negotiations with both stars about the project in the late 1960s, but was forced to scrap his plans when a rival film about the French leader, starring ROD STEIGER, was a flop at the box office.
Kubrick's secret Napoleon film has come to light after the movie maker's family released personal material to select journalists recently.
They plan to publish the director's screenplay and notes for the epic.
