JACK BLACK - KONG STARS' TELESCOPE WARS

The cast of KING KONG became obsessed with telescopes while filming KING KONG in New Zealand, so they could spy on each other.

Actor JACK BLACK bought one so he could spy on his co-stars after pal THOMAS KRETSCHMANN alerted him to the fact he could see everything he was doing from his own home.

Black recalls, "Thomas got a telescope and he was calling me, saying, 'I can see you. You're wearing a green shirt.' I went, 'Holy crap!' So I went and bought a telescope too.

"I could see all around the city and I could see into (director) PETER (JACKSON) and (wife) FRAN's backyard. I could actually see what was on their computer screen saver. There were photographs from the movie changing every 30 seconds. It was cool."
