Kilmer Starts Film Commission In New Mexico
Hollywood actor VAL KILMER has set up a film commission in New Mexico in an effort to pull more cash into the state.
The WONDERLAND star - who was recently at the centre of controversy when he was quoted in ROLLING STONE magazine as saying his adopted state is "the homicide capital of the United States" - has teamed up with locals to establish a better movie infrastructure in the region.
He says of New Mexico, "It's beautiful. It's always been popular with tourists and many people have a second home there, but it's a very poor state.
"There's a lot of great artisans and union people that move back and forth to Hollywood to make movies, it's just we've never really been organised so I helped pass a bill. We brought about $40 million into New Mexico."
