KIEFER SUTHERLAND landed his first acting role in Los Angeles thanks to his ability to play the violin.
The 24 star took violin lessons from the age of four - at his mother's insistence - and never thought they'd pay off until he landed a part in the play THRONE OF STRAW.
Sutherland says, "I was 11 and the reason why I got the job was because I had a violin solo in the second act."
