KIEFER SUTHERLAND's downtown Los Angeles home has become gangland central for the city's most notorious hoodlums - and the actor couldn't be happier.
The 24 star has renovated an abandoned warehouse in the heart of Los Angeles' gang neighbourhood, but he insists his new pad is a hotbed of talent and colour, rather than a mecca for violence.
He says, "It's a colourful neighbourhood. To the north, it's all Salvadoreans and Salvadorean gangs. South is all Ukranian. They don't cross.
"They use our building as a giant memo pad for tagging. Every other day one gang will leave a note for the other. We want to make sure the other person gets the message, and then we'll paint over it.
"We definitely don't want to cause any problems or get in the middle of things. We really like the neighbourhood and people have been really good to us here."
