KIEFER SUTHERLAND loves laughing at himself on the set of US TV show 24 because it helps relieve the tension of dramatic scenes.
The actor, who plays terrorist tracker JACK BAUER on the show, admits he's always trying to find ways to help cast and crew relax when they're shooting tough stand-off scenes.
And he admits his clumsy nature helps the humour flow.
He explains, "It's intense and we have found a lot of ways to try and break that up. We sometimes take scenes and try and make a musical out of them.
"There was a moment in season four where I'm climbing up the side of the Chinese consulate, and my gun falls out of my pocket and goes off and shot me in the a*s.
"I mean, anytime we get to kind of poke fun at ourselves and have a laugh, we take it."
