OSCAR-winning beauty NICOLE KIDMAN is on the lookout for love - even though she has no idea what it is.

The DOGVILLE actress has enjoyed a few brief romances with ADRIEN BRODY and LENNY KRAVITZ since her high-profile split with ex-husband TOM CRUISE in 2001, but is yet to have a serious liaison.

Kidman says, "The ancient Greeks, poets, authors and philosophers all puzzled over the question but nobody really knows what love is - including me.

"But it's a project worth pursuing tirelessly.

"I don't want to talk about the man or men in my life as long as I am not married. I don't think it would be fair.

"Longing for another person is an exciting mental experience. I think we all know what it's like to long for someone, to desire somebody."
