NICOLE KIDMAN was forced to wait in line each day for security checks while she filmed THE INTERPRETER in the UNITED NATIONS headquarters in New York - despite having one of the most recognisable faces in the world.

Kidman plays a UN languages expert alongside SEAN PENN in director SYDNEY POLLACK's movie, and found security to be extremely tight during the three month shoot.

She says, "There was no cutting corners. It would take five or 10 minutes just to get through the gate and no matter how many times they saw you that day they'd check your identification."
