KID ROCK is being investigated by Los Angeles police after allegedly stealing and damaging camera equipment following a scuffle outside a Hollywood nightclub. The rocker reportedly took offence when he was attacked by video paparazzi after leaving top Hollywood club Teddy's with minders and pals early on Wednesday morning (22MAR06). And, according to video cameraman GARY KAPLAN, Rock and his crew lashed out, snatched camera equipment and films, threw it in two cars and drove off. The equipment has since been returned to Kaplan after he "badgered" Kid Rock's publicist NICK STERN and manager ED ANDREWS, but he claims items are missing and damaged. Kaplan's wife RACHELLE says, "We located the stolen equipment, totalling about $5,600. We got it all back, although somewhat damaged. "Our videotape in the video camera was missing; I consider it stolen. The eyepiece on the video camera was missing; the light was in pieces and needs to be replaced. "The memory card in the still camera was gone; again I consider it stolen. All the equipment was returned by the limo company Kid Rock had hired. We picked it all up at a West Hollywood hotel." Kaplan and his crew are now seeking damages for the broken and missing items from Rock's management. A Hollywood police spokesman confirms a report was filed about the incident and an investigation into the fracas is ongoing. Meanwhile, an autograph hunter who was pushed to the ground in the altercation outside Teddy's and later needed hospital attention is considering suing Rock and his minders.
