AMERICAN IDOL - KELLY'S PERIOD PROBLEM

AMERICAN IDOL star KELLY CLARKSON was ridiculed as a child because she had her first period when she was just nine.

The singer was the first girl in her class to have her period and the memory still haunts her to this day.

She recalls, "Everyone started much later than me, like in seventh grade. But mine started in fourth, which meant I was nine. It sucked because I was so involved in sports.

"When I got up from my desk, there was blood all down the back of my clothes. I hadn't even realised. My best friend told me. Luckily, I managed to tie a sweater around my waist to cover it up."
