Original AMERICAN IDOL victor KELLY CLARKSON brought chaos to a live radio interview on Thursday (04DEC03), when she learned she'd received a GRAMMY nomination.
The Texas native received a nod for music's highest honour in the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category for her hit track MISS INDEPENDENT - pitching her against the likes of DIDO and CHRISTINA AGUILERA.
And Clarkson admits she temporarily lost her composure when she learned of the good news.
She says, "I was doing a radio interview and my manager looked over at me and said, 'You just got nominated for a Grammy,' and I flipped out in the middle of the interview, like on-air!
"I felt bad. I was like, 'That's so not professional,' but whatever!"
She adds, "This is a very cool thing and I'm happy. I mean it's cool to get recognised for your work and everything."
