ANGELINA JOLIE - JOLIE PLEADS FOR REFUGEE AID

Crusading actress ANGELINA JOLIE's impassioned appeal on behalf of refugees across the globe has been broadcast on TV more than a week before it was scheduled for release. The 30-second message sees the TOMB RAIDER star begging viewers to use World Refugee Day on 20 June (06) to remember the plight of people who have lost their homes through poverty, famine, conflict or natural disasters. One TV network in Spain is already running the clip twice an hour. In the message Jolie says, "For the millions of displaced persons around the world, please help keep their hope alive and remember World Refugee Day." The appeal was taped for the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) in April (06). Jolie has been a goodwill ambassador for the organisation since 2001.
