ELTON JOHN - JOHN'S HUGE BID FOR MOSS BARING BREASTS

SIR ELTON JOHN made a staggering $475,000 (GBP250,000) bid for a nude photo of KATE MOSS - and is stunned an anonymous buyer paid an extra $38,000 (GBP20,000) to win the coveted picture.

The flamboyant singer made the huge offer at London auction house Christie's because he adored the photograph of the supermodel clad only in JIMMY CHOO shoes, taken to raise money for the ELTON JOHN AIDS FOUNDATION.

John explains, "I thought it was a beautiful picture of Kate. She is naked with her breasts on show, but it is a very beautiful, classy image.

"It was taken by SAM TAYLOR-WOOD and I really wanted to own it.

"The whole auction raised GBP1.3 million which is amazing - we're thrilled."
