French rock star JOHNNY HALLYDAY has appeared before judges on charges of raping a hostess on board his yacht.
The JE N'SUIS PAS UN HEROS star "absolutely contests" the accusation by MARIE-CHRISTINE VO, who filed the action in April 2002.
Hallyday, 60, has not been placed under formal investigation, and has filed two counter-suits for calumnious denunciation and for attempt to blackmail and extort funds.
Hallyday's lawyers claim Ms Vo said she would not file suit if the singer gave her $425,000 (GBP250,000).
