Superstar singer JENNIFER LOPEZ is being targetted by animal rights group PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA) who are angry because she wears fur.
The campaign comes at a terrible time for J.Lo, whose new album REBIRTH hits shops today - but PETA are also angry because there is so much fur featured in her new fashion line SWEETFACE.
And they plan to hit her where it hurts, first targetting the Virgin Records store in Times Square, New York where J.Lo will today (01MAR05) sign copies of Rebirth.
PETA members will show passers-by video footage of animals being skinned alive in China alongside images of the singer draped in fur in her latest video.
PETA vice president DAN MATHEWS tells gossip website THE SCOOP, "There is nothing remotely 'sweet' about the torture deaths of animals killed for fur.
"Jennifer Lopez may be able to get the images of bloody, skinned foxes still alive and breathing out of her head, but we doubt all her fans will."
