Jazz photographer JAMIE HODGSON has died following a battle with cancer. He was 76.
Londoner Hodgson, who passed away on Sunday (08JAN06), is best known for his black-and-white portraits of LOUIS ARMSTRONG, DUKE ELLINGTON, DIZZY GILLESPIE, RAY CHARLES and ELLA FITZGERALD in the 1950s and 1960s.
He began his career in 1950 photographing British comedy stars FRANKIE HOWERD and HARRY SEYCOMBE.
