Rap mogul SHAWN `JAY-Z' CARTER is calling on hip-hop fans to come up with a new anthem for his basketball team the New Jersey Nets.

The retired rapper-turned-Def Jam president is a part-owner of the US National Basketball Association (NBA) team - and he has taken on the task of giving them a new theme tune.

Carter has teamed up with New York radio station Hot 97 and soft drinks firm Sprite to launch a contest to find a new tune.

The winner will meet Jay-Z, record the song and perform it at a Nets home game. The song will also be played at home games in the future.
