Pop babe JAMELIA dragged her young daughter to the recording of the new BAND AID 20 single earlier this month (NOV04), because she wanted her to learn the importance of helping less fortunate people.

The THANK YOU star was three, the same age as her child TEJA, when the original 1984 line-up first released charity song DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS? to raise funds for famine victims in Ethiopia, but she believes it's essential today's youth gain early knowledge of worldly issues.

She says, "She doesn't understand what it's about, but she came with me to the recording and had a brilliant time.

"I've tried to explain to her how many people are starving in Africa and how lucky she is. I think it's important to instill that into children, especially nowadays."

Band Aid 20's version of Do They Know It's Christmas? hits British record stores on 29 November (04).
