MICHAEL JACKSON - JACKSON URGED TO DONATE LIVE 8 PROFITS

MICHAEL JACKSON is being urged to donate his profits from the historic Live 8 concerts, which otherwise could clear much of his financial debt, to charity.

The THRILLER star, who was acquitted of child molestation charges last month (JUN05), owns the rights to all THE BEATLES songs.

Last weekend (02JUL05), former Beatle SIR PAUL McCARTNEY played SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, GET BACK, DRIVE MY CAR, HELTER SKELTER, THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD and HEY JUDE at the London leg of Live 8.

Since the concert, sales of Beatles songs have soared, with millions of fans downloading the live version of Sgt Pepper's which McCartney performed with U2.

Experts believe Jackson's profits from Live 8 could be enough to clear most of his considerable financial debt.

But yesterday (09JUL05), as bands across the world pledged all their profits from increased album sales and downloads to Live 8, Jackson was urged to give up any gains too.

A source says, "Even though the profits could be huge for Jackson, we hope he could give the money to Live 8."
