PRETENDERS rocker CHRISSIE HYNDE is worried about her comeback album - in case it provides her with an unwanted big hit.
The veteran musician, 52, is releasing her first album, LOOSE SCREW, for new record company ARTEMIS.
And whilst she wants the LP to do well, Hynde doesn't want it to prove too successful - because she wouldn't be able to deal with the attention.
She explains, "I should say I'd love it to be a huge hit, but in truth I'd like it to be a moderate success. To be honest, if it was a huge hit, I don't know that I would like all the fuss.
"I'm sure my new record company, if they were to hear me say that, would have their heads in their hands, saying, 'Why the f*** did we sign this loser?'
"Frankly, I don't give a f*** if you buy my records or not. I'm not trying to attract an audience, I'm not trying to sell records, I'm just trying to do enough to get by."
