Rocker CHRISSIE HYNDE joined animal activists in Sydney, Australia, yesterday (11FEB04) to protest a new sheep mutilation practice.

THE PRETENDERS star joined PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA) in the protest - aimed at wool farmers.

As part of a Sydney rally, Hynde donned a "body screen TV" on her chest that portrayed gruesome images of a maggot-infestation prevention process called mulesing (corr), which involves carving chunks of skin out of live sheep.

The goal of the protest was to get Australian farmers to cease these practices by October (04), or face a boycott action from PETA.
