Canadian rockers HOT HOT HEAT object to being compared to THE STROKES - because they have nothing in common with the New York stars.

The NO, NOT NOW musicians are adamant to be known for their own attributes - even though they are massive fans of the IS THIS IT? five-piece.

Hot Hot Heat keyboardist STEVE BAYS sighs, "We come from a separate country on the opposite side of the world, we don't sound like them and they've sold millions more than us.

"So to say anything other than, 'No, we don't actually sound like them' would be stupid and untrue."

However, bassist DUSTIN HAWTHORNE adds, "But they're saving rock'n'roll."
