HORNBLOWER star IOAN GRUFFUD's new TV show has been axed after just four episodes.

The Welsh actor's futuristic legal drama CENTURY CITY failed to lure viewers away from reality TV smash AMERICAN IDOL on Tuesday nights in America, and so the programme is to become the latest in a long line of failed dramas.

The cast also featured PRETTY WOMAN star HECTOR ELIZONDO and ERIC SCHAEFFER.
