NEW ORDER bassist PETER HOOK has slammed the English Football Association (FA) for choosing EMBRACE to sing this summer's soccer World Cup anthem over newcomers the ARCTIC MONKEYS. Hook, whose band sang WORLD IN MOTION for England's 1990 World Cup campaign, claims Embrace's song WORLD AT YOUR FEET will do nothing to boost the crowd during the all-important games, which take place between 9 June and 9 July (06). He says, "It's a travesty. We're going to get some middle-of-the-road weepy ballad. That's not going to get anyone singing along on the terraces is it "Embrace just don't do it for me. "They should have got Arctic Monkeys with (soccer player) WAYNE ROONEY rapping along, otherwise the FA should just have re-issued World In Motion."
