Busy QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE leader JOSH HOMME has formed another side project band for an upcoming US festival.
The rocker, who also fronts EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, will premiere new act the 5:15ERS at the Arthurball festival at Los Angeles' The Echo later this month (26FEB06).
Homme formed the group with pal CHRIS GOSS, who tells Billboard.com, "We've actually had (the idea) for 10 years. My friend JAY BABCOCK at Arthur Magazine called a month or two ago and said, 'Do you want to play ArthurBall, which is happening in the spring time?'
"I called Josh and I said, 'It's time for the 5:15ers, right?' And he said, 'Yeah.' So this is the debut of the whole idea."
Homme and Goss have some work to do before their live debut - as they have no songs written yet.
Goss adds, "I think there will be some improv involved... Perhaps some covers, we're thinking."
Goss and Homme are longtime collaborators - Goss produced albums for Homme's former group KYUSS and participated in a number of the QOTSA frontman's ongoing DESERT SESSIONS projects.
