Actress KATIE HOLMES is amazed she was able to mask her terror on the set of new BATMAN movie BATMAN BEGINS - because she constantly felt intimidated by co-stars and heroes LIAM NEESON, MORGAN FREEMAN and SIR MICHAEL CAINE.

The former DAWSON'S CREEK star, who plays Batman CHRISTIAN BALE's love interest in the new movie, lived in fear of being sacked because she felt sure she was leaving her heavyweight co-stars far from impressed.

She says, "I was like, 'God, let me come home from this day OK. Please do not let them fire me. Let me spit out my lines. Please. Help.'

"Michael Caine said one of my takes was good. I think I called my mom immediately. Like, 'Mom, he said I'm OK.'"
